Thanks to all of you who completed this year’s Members Survey and congratulations to Banbridge & Craigavon Area Carers Support Group, which won the first prize in our survey draw for a free place at two NICVA training events.
In our latest annual membership survey 78% of respondents said they found an improvement in NICVA’s service delivery and the range of services it provides. Of course there is no room for complacency and there is still some work to do to prove to the remaining 22% that NICVA provides a quality service for its members.
As in previous years, the survey examined the attitudes and opinions of NICVA members towards the quality and relevance of the services the organisation provides. The survey found nearly two thirds of respondents (65.3%) have been members for a period of more than five years. In addition it found that access to advice and information, to guidance, training and support and networking opportunities were the top three motives for organisations to become members.
The survey also found that over two thirds of respondents believe that many of the services NICVA provides are valuable. Services highlighted as valuable include governance and charity advice and training, funding advice, Grant Tracker, policy seminars and training and advice on policy matters. The majority of respondents indicated that services have improved since they became members.
NICVA also used this year’s Membership Survey to ascertain the views of members in relation to its current strategic plan and their views as to what should be considered for the next strategic plan (2009-2012). The findings of this research have formed an integral part in NICVA deliberations concerning its next strategic plan.
