A seasonal round up of news, views, events, training and funding for the voluntary and community sector.
This month's round up
Our Christmas and New Year edition brings a bumper crop of news, events, training, policy and of course that all-important funding information.
Sustainability
Top of our agenda this month is our annual conference and AGM which this year seeks to entertain, provoke, challenge and above all clear up all the hearsay on sustainability. Check out the conference website http://nicva2.org/annualconference/ and communityni.org for a bit of 'green' inspiration.
Reserves policy
This month we welcome new guidance on organisational reserves which we hope will encourage funders to adopt a more supportive attitude towards organisations holding an appropriate contingency fund.
Budget consultation
The announcement of a consultation on the draft budget and programme for government comes in the middle of the pre-Christmas rush, but we would encourage you not to overlook making a response. Some arts and environmental groups are already less than impressed with the proposals. See our budget briefing.
Season's greetings
Finally, in a break with tradition and in line with the aims of our upcoming conference, we've decided to forego the usual Christmas card this year. We'd like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a prosperous and sustainable New Year.
